Huge 2010 Update!
I've been terrible at keeping this updated, mainly due to the amount of effort it takes for each update, so the past several weeks, I've done some back-end coding to ease the process of doing updates. Also, I'm out of space uploading pics to Picasa, so I went ahead and worked on my old photo album code. It's still a work in progress but it's at least to the point to allow you to see the thumbnails, zoom, and download the original size and view the EXIF information if needed.

Family Vacation to Hawaii!
From September 25 to October 2, 2009, Joshua, Kim, her mother, and I took a trip to Princeville, Kaua'i. We had a fantastic time exploring the island as far as the roads would allow, swimming and snorkeling at multiple beaches, viewing the many waterfalls, and even taking an introduction to SCUBA class. During our stay, Kim and I also took a day trip over to O'ahu to visit Pearl Harbor and Waikiki Beach. The last two days, we did a hiking/zipline tour of Princeville Ranch and an hour long helicopter tour of the entire island.
Joshua had a fantastic time. He loves the beach and playing in the waves. We were very fortunate to have Kim's mom come along to help watch him while she and I could do our "own thing" now and then.

Super Happy Fun Summer 2009 Update!
Greetings and salutations to all! I've finally made some time to organize photographs, update the site, and archive off the old updates to decrease load times of the index. For posterity, there is a link near the bottom of the page for the old 2008 updates.
This rather large update begins in mid-December when we celebrated Joshua's first birthday with friends and Grandma Clark in Phoenix to our Christmas trip to Mississippi, first haircut, all the way through summer '09 in Phoenix.
Major milestones include walking without holding on to things, first words such as "ball", dancing in circles, and the ability to open and close doors. Impressively, he is very cognizant of a wide range of language spoken to him. For example, you can hand him something and ask him to "throw it away" or "put it in the garbage" and he will take it to the kitchen pantry, open the door, throw the item away, and close the door back. He also loves to help deliver mail, try on Daddy's shoes, and empty the dishwasher (even if it hasn't run yet!). Joshua's favorite hobby seems to be reading. He will sit for about an hour or so and read by himself, but will also bring you every book he owns one by one to be read to him. :)
